The Design and Development of an Integrated Propulsion System – Phase 4: Shared Cooling and Lubrication Strategy
摘要
One industry trend consists of the integration of the electric motor and the transmission within a fully integrated assembly. Such an approach needs to deal with developing effective cooling and lubrication solutions that synergize with the integrated components. This paper presents the development of the shared cooling and lubrication system, together with its functional strategy. In addition, the dedicated design for the electric machine for increasing cooling efficiency and the transmission were developed. The battery and the electric machine were chosen to fulfill all the requirements in terms of dynamic performance and available space while being integrated on a L6E electric vehicle virtual prototype. Also, the electric machine control was defined to respect the L6E regulations regarding the speed and the power. The resulting systems was designed with increased levels of modularity and scalability, allowing their use on various vehicle platforms.
