The paper presents some recommendations for the study of the possibilities offered by an existent kinematic scheme of a planetary transmission. First, some constructive characteristics of planetary units are obtained so that the realizable transmission ratios of the gearset to represent the best approximation of the wanted ratios for best performances. It is also presented a way to establish the magnitudes of the torques and powerflows that stress the gears, shafts, clutches and brakes.
