Strategic Reference for Adopting Sustainable Agricultural Practices Through Social Learning in Indian Agriculture for Environmental Management

This research introduces a comprehensive strategy framework designed to facilitate the integration of novel sustainable practices within the Indian agricultural system. Specifically, the framework advocates for the adoption of Green Infrastructure-related approaches such as phytoremediation and a riparian buffer system to effectively preserve the quality and abundance of both irrigation water and soil resources. The pivotal role of social learning processes in this endeavor is underscored. The practical application of the strategy is exemplified through a meticulous case study conducted in the Lower Damodar Basin. The implementation process involved a systematic assessment encompassing the identification of pertinent challenges and requirements encountered by farmers. Concurrently, an evaluation of prevailing agricultural methodologies was conducted. Furthermore, stakeholders accountable for aspects including water provisioning, pollution control, and land conservation were meticulously identified. Notably, the distinct priorities of farmers were ascertained as a primary focal point. Drawing from these insights, contextually pertinent resolutions and strategic measures were formulated with the overarching aim of establishing a robust social learning network. This scholarly contribution holds implications for sustainable agricultural advancement, offering a comprehensive roadmap for pragmatic execution while fostering collaborative erudition among relevant stakeholders.
