The DYSPA System: A Clinically Viable Neuro-Motor Assessment for Children with Dystonia
摘要
This paper presents the development and clinical application of the DYSPA system, a neuro-motor assessment tool for children with dystonia. Traditional rating scales, such as the Burke‐Fahn‐Marsden Dystonia Rating Scale, lack in granularity and cannot describe properly child’s functional ability or motor severity. The DYSPA system, implemented in the Child Neurology Unit of the Fondazione IRCSS Istituto Carlo Besta, addresses this limitation by providing sensitive and objective measures for characterizing motor impairment severity and evaluating the treatment efficacy.
