The Effect of Dual Tasking on Swallowing in Severe Parkinson’s Disease: A Case Report
摘要
Dysphagia (swallowing difficulty) is a critical symptom of Parkinson's disease. The effect of dual tasking on swallowing in severe Parkinson’s disease has not been reported. We evaluated the swallowing status of the patient in two conditions: single-task condition (swallowing only) and dual-task condition (swallowing with mental load). We used video endoscopy and video fluorography for the assessment. The results showed delayed swallowing reflex, which improved in the dual-task condition compared to the single-task condition.
