Applicability of Gait Indices in Parkinson’s Disease: A Review on Clinical, Methodological and Experimental Challenges
摘要
This paper reviews the use of various gait indices for assessing Parkinson’s disease gait. Selected indices include the Gait Deviation Index, the Gillette Gait Index, the Gait Profile Score, the Hip Flexor Index, the GDI-Kinetic, the Symmetry Index, and the Gait Variability Index. These indices offer insights into gait deviations and variability crucial for clinical evaluation and research. However, their application in PD faces challenges due to the need for high-quality data and specific normative datasets. Further research is needed to validate these indices with PD-specific data to improve diagnostic accuracy and treatment outcomes.
