Innovative Approach to Evaluate a Gait Rehabilitation Strategy that Combines Portable Robots with Transcutaneous Spinal Stimulation
摘要
ReGait project proposes an innovative gait therapy for incomplete Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) patients. This therapy associates and synchronizes lower-limb H3 robotic system, Brain-Machine Interface (BMI), and transcutaneous spinal current stimulation (tSCS). Due to the complexity of the project, it is necessary an innovative protocol to evaluate the effectiveness and viability of the therapy in terms of biomechanics. The kinematic and the muscular activation register is carried out using Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) devices and a surface electromyographic (EMG) equipment, respectively. Regarding kinetics, using the mentioned kinematic and EMG signals, a methodology is developed to estimate torque and power.
