摘要

Immersive virtual reality (IVR) researchers keep developing state-of-the-art techniques to enhance interaction and accessibility in IVR applications. In this short perspective we propose the use of some of these techniques for rehabilitation. Action redirection and action reprojection are two relevant examples. Both use simple visuomotor to effectively induce implicit motor adjustments during reaching actions. In both, the adjustments’ amplitude and the region of space in which the movement unfolds can be controlled and therefore adapted to diverse needs. Here, we envision how these and similar techniques can be adopted in innovative individualized protocols for motor rehabilitation and discuss the specific case of hemispatial neglect.
