This chapter provides an overview of broadband communications, outlining the current state of broadband systems, key issues, and potential solutions. It presents various fixed broadband technologies, with a primary focus on Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) networks. Additionally, the chapter explores opportunities for 5G-based FWA, discussing various implementation considerations for different use cases.
