摘要

The dissemination of simple and accessible information is important for the involvement of citizens in the political and financial activities of Municipalities, contributing to greater transparency and accountability of local political power. One way of providing this information is Popular Reporting. In Portugal, studies in this area are scarce and, in this work, an exploratory study is developed, seeking to prepare a content proposal for the Popular Reporting and, based on the information available on the Municipalities websites to understand whether Portuguese Municipalities are prepared to adopt Popular Reporting. Qualitative methodologies were used to analyse the websites of the Municipalities of the aforementioned Community, identifying whether they provide the information that, according to the proposal made, should be included in Popular Reporting. The results allow us to conclude that, although in a dispersed form, much of the information that should be included in Popular Reporting is already available on websites, meaning that it is understood that Municipalities are moderately prepared for its adoption.
