Exploring the Safe Integration of Generative AI in Cybersecurity Education Addressing Challenges in Transparency, Accuracy, and Security
摘要
The educational landscape has undergone a profound transformation in the wake of the pandemic, necessitating a swift pivot to digital pedagogy. The surge in popularity of Generative AI (GenAI) tools, exemplified by a million subscribers within the first week of its release, underscores their inevitable integration into teaching. It is clear that the genie is out of the bottle, and AI is now so deeply integrated into the learning experience that it would be counterproductive to resist the change. Meanwhile, in the age of emerging technologies and cyber threats, Cybersecurity Education has become of paramount importance. This paper explores the integration of GenAI within cybersecurity education, aiming to bridge existing gaps and enhance learning outcomes. By addressing the themes of accuracy, transparency and security in GenAI tools, the review provides insights into the ethical and effective use of AI in education, aiming to prepare students to face evolving cyber threats. The critical question explored is: Why can't Generative AI be effectively incorporated as an assistive tool for both educators and students in Cybersecurity Education? The paper highlights the potential of AI-driven educational tools to transform cybersecurity training, ensuring that students are well-equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate and protect the digital landscape.
