Multiscalar Analysis of the Architecture of Fifteen Fragile Heritages

  • Gerardo Semprebon

摘要

This chapter focuses on the architecture of the fifteen vernacular buildings, adopting a multiscalar perspective. Here emerge the intimate links between typology and morphology in the capacity of such spaces to go beyond the finiteness of the building form and set spatial rules working on the scale of the settlements. First, an individual building is observed in its material, formal and functional features. Second, the fifteen halls are studied in a comparative way in order to emphasize the constants of the space embodied by their physical manifestations. Third, an interpretative system of non-written spatial rules is unveiled by exploring the morphological impacts of the ancestral halls’ architectural type and emphasizing the multiscalar relations they trigger at a broader scale.
