Positioning the Research

This chapter positions the research in its academic environment by identifying the objectives pursued and the domains explored, tracing the main lines of re-search currently focusing on architecture in rural China, and showcasing an example of the current developmental practicses visited during the fieldwork. These three points provide the basis for setting the research hypothesis and defining investigation methods and tools.
