When, during a Port State Control inspection, the Port State Control Officer has clear grounds (refer to Chap. 1 ) the following onboard operational procedures may be checked in accordance with this resolution. However, in exercising Port State Control authority, the Port State Control Officer should not include any operational tests or impose physical demands which, in the judgement of the vessel’s master, could jeopardise the safety of the vessel, crew, passengers, control officers or cargo.
