Our work explores a novel approach to exploit Windows API functions beyond their original purposes and use them for inter-process communication (IPC). The methodology used includes an analysis of the functionality of Windows API functions and the development of custom solutions for establishing inter-process connections. We show how to use a mechanism designed to handle a thread's message queue as an intermediate medium to detect other processes capable of communicating in this way, and then dynamically establish a connection between them. Motivated by the need to extend the capabilities of IPC in Windows operating systems, this research shows how unconventional uses of these mechanisms can improve inter-process communication.
