Recently, there has been a growing interest in utilizing computer games as a means of education. Educational computer games aim to boost students’ motivation and engagement while catering to their unique needs and characteristics for better academic outcomes. To this end, a new AI-based educational game, Fuzzy EPATHLO, has been developed to teach the HTML programming language. Fuzzy EPATHLO operates under the umbrella of EPATHLO Educational Game Suite, which applies fuzzy sets to represent the student’s knowledge level more realistically and provide a customized and engaging learning experience. The game utilizes this information to determine the appropriate difficulty level of quizzes and if the scenario should dynamically expand to provide a more challenging and immersive experience. By doing so, the game adapts to the student’s learning pace and provides an optimal learning experience that is both challenging and engaging. This approach provides a highly personalized learning and gaming experience for the student. The game has undergone evaluation, and the outcomes are encouraging.
