摘要

Many questions in commutative algebra can be resolved locally, that is, by localizing outside a prime ideal and arguing in the resulting local ring. Kunz [191, IV] calls this the “local-global principle in commutative algebra.” The technique was, for example, applied in the proofs of 14.1.18 and 15.1.9, and it is the recurring theme in this chapter.
