Igneous and Metamorphic Rocks

This chapter is primarily concerned with intrusive igneous rocks and the landforms to which they give rise, including tors, inselbergsInselberg, bornhardtsBornhardt, and the like. However, it also considers the nature of the landforms associated with various metamorphic rocks, including schistsSchist and gneisses. Particular attention is given to inselbergsInselberg in the Namib Desert, ZimbabweZimbabwe, MoroccoMorocco, and parts of the USA and to the various weathering forms that develop on igenous rocks.
