Intelligent Support for Manuscript Authors Using Term Clouds in Scientific Reviews

  • Viktoriya A. Latypova

摘要

The scientific work publication process is long-lasting and complicated, comprising multiple phases. Partial automation and information support for participants in the process during each phase can be used to accelerate the whole publication process. At present the practice of open peer review is gaining momentum. A vast array of reviews allows to carry out their mining and exploit the analysis results for intelligent support at the different publication process phases, involving all the principal stakeholders: editors, peer reviewers and authors. However, an emphasis is placed on the intelligent support for editors and peer reviewers in the current research. The issues of author support are not given enough attention, what is unreasonable because author actions directly affect to the results and duration of the publication process. To address the problem, an approach to intelligent support for manuscript authors using term clouds in scientific reviews is suggested in the paper. The approach was tested on data of an academic journal with open peer review “Semantic Web” and conference “International Conference on Learning Representations”.
