This chapter presents the general concept of stress in the three-dimensional space and its representation by a stress matrix. The physical content of such a stress matrix can be represented by so-called stress invariants and a common set of these quantities is introduced in detail. The second part is devoted to the graphical representation of yield conditions and different experimental approaches to investigate their corresponding shape.

摘要

This chapter presents the general concept of stress in the three-dimensional space and its representation by a stress matrix. The physical content of such a stress matrix can be represented by so-called stress invariants and a common set of these quantities is introduced in detail. The second part is devoted to the graphical representation of yield conditions and different experimental approaches to investigate their corresponding shape.
