Audiological Approach in Bone-Anchored Hearing Aid Applications
摘要
In bone conduction hearing, vibrations are transmitted directly through the skull to the cochlea. Bone-anchored hearing systems are an effective intervention method developed in this direction and used in hearing habilitation and rehabilitation. The use of bone-anchored hearing systems is an appropriate option in cases where conventional air-conduction hearing aids are not useful and cannot provide sufficient benifit, in cases of conductive and mixed hearing losses, and in cases of unilateral hearing loss. There are several technologies used in bone-anchored hearing systems.
