Repair of Femoral Nonunion with Acute Shortening and Concomitant Lengthening with a Proximal Osteotomy and Precice Nail

A 38-year-old male is presented with a recalcitrant atrophic femoral nonunion and a limb length discrepancy of 2 cm. Treatment consisted of a single surgery to repair the nonunion with rod exchange, plating, and reamer-irrigator-aspirator (RIA) harvested autograft bone. The rod was exchanged for a Precice nail and a proximal corticotomy was performed to restore length from the initial limb length discrepancy as well as the shortening from the repair of the nonunion.
