Proximal Femur Nonunion After Intramedullary Nailing Treated with Deformity Correction with a Blade Plate
摘要
A74-year-old male sustained a proximal femur fracture in a motor vehicle crash and was treated with intramedullary nailing at an outside institution. He developed a nonunion of his proximal femur with deformity. Initially, removing the current nail and placing a new nail in better position was planned; however, obtaining the ideal starting point and correcting the deformity proved difficult. Ultimately, he was treated with hardware removal and blade plate fixation with correction of his deformity.
