摘要

Severe pilon fractures may be complicated with significant bone and articular cartilage loss, infection, nonunion, and poor soft tissue coverage. This case demonstrates the technique of bone segment transport to manage a severe segmental defect that included the tibial plafond. The cable technique described by Weber was utilized so as to minimally disrupt the tenuous soft tissue envelope. 6.7 cm of transport was achieved resulting in successful tibiotalar arthrodesis.
