Brachymetatarsia: Distraction Osteogenesis
摘要
Brachymetatarsia, whether acquired or congenital, is a common (prevalence is less than 1 in 4,586) intolerable deformity. Short metatarsals can present unilaterally or bilaterally and commonly involve the fourth metatarsal (single) or brachymetapody (involvement of multiple metatarsals). It is suspected that the cause is premature closure of the metatarsal epiphyseal growth plate.
