Radical Excision and Lengthening of Chronic Sclerosing Osteomyelitis of Garre (10 Years of Follow-Up)
摘要
Sclerosing osteomyelitis of Garre is an orthopedic enigma with nonspecific clinical description and course, obscure pathogenesis, and no consensus regarding treatment. The disease affects children and young adults with involvement of diaphysis of long bones. Usually there is swelling and pain over affected bone that might persist for many years. Treatment recommendations till today are observation, NSAIDs, and bone curettage. Bone biopsy revealed chronic, low-grade osteomyelitis, and cultures are usually negative.
