Complex Foot Deformity in a Child with Aperts Syndrome, Treated with a Miter Frame

  • David B. Frumberg

摘要

A 12-year-old girl with Apert syndrome has a rigid malaligned foot due to extensive osseous coalitions. Her mobility was severely limited. Supramalleolar osteotomy was performed for ankle realignment and percutaneous midfoot osteotomy was performed for foot realignment. Simultaneous gradual correction through both osteotomy levels was performed with circular external fixation in a miter construct. Functional ambulation and orthosis tolerance improved as a result of treatment.
