Perthes: Femoral Head Reduction Osteotomy

Perthes disease often leads to a nonspherical-shaped femoral head. Coxa magna with coxa breva and an elliptical or saddle-shaped femoral head lead to limitation of motion and pain from femuro-acetabular impingement (FAI) and lack of congruity. The Ganz femoral head reduction osteotomy (FHRO) can be used to reduce the femoral head size and restore sphericity.
