Healed Slipped Capital Femoral Deformity
摘要
Healed deformity of slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE) is known to be associated with acetabular, labral, and chondral pathology that results in early osteoarthritis of the hip. Furthermore, the metaphyseal bump in addition to proximal femoral anatomy can cause alterations in range of motion of the hip that precludes participation in various activities including some activities of daily living. While the modified Dunn osteotomy allows for an excellent correction of the deformity, recent literature has shown unacceptably high rates of avascular necrosis. Safer forms of treatment include resection of the femoral head-neck junction (metaphyseal) bump or realignment of the proximal femur through intertrochanteric/subtrochanteric osteotomies. In moderate to severe cases, a combined approach is sometimes required.
