Humerus Lengthening with an Internal Lengthening Nail
摘要
This case presents a 36-year-old female who developed a 6 cm arm length discrepancy and proximal humeral varus after a bicycle accident at 9 years old. She received a femoral trochanteric PRECICE® intramedullary nail that was distracted 50 mm at varying rates of 0.75 to 1 mm/day. Careful consideration was given to the osteotomy location, nail entry site, and locking screw location to ensure safe and effective nail placement. Her arm lengths were completely equalized with no complications, and the internal lengthening nail was removed approximately 1 year after implantation.
