Press-Fit Osseointegration for the Pelvic Disarticulation Amputee

This case illustrates anchoring an osseointegrated implant into the pelvis of a patient with a hip disarticulation. This patient was the first to ever have this procedure performed, and it was critical to ensure that he would still be able to sit after having the implant, as well as that he would be able to ambulate using an attached external prosthetic leg as well.
