摘要

This is a case of a 48-year-old female who initially sustained trauma and subsequent infection, to her right leg at age 18. She underwent multiple procedures to address infection with eventual remission. She had further re-emergence of clinical signs and symptoms of infection and had further surgery and further recurrence. Patient underwent debridement of osteomyelitis of the right tibia with insertion of gracilis muscle free flap in debrided osteomyelitis cavity to provide biological live tissue in management of dead space. Biological dead space management provides live tissue and local delivery of antibiotics at the site of infection to control the infection.
