Leg Length Discrepancy Combined with Genu Recurvatum and Genu Valga as Sequela of Growth Plate Injury
摘要
A patient with tibial shortening and recurvatum deformity of proximal tibia was treated by acute correction and lengthening over nail method. Acute tibial correction in the sagittal plane is very difficult to correct with only blocking screw intramedullary (IM) canal narrowing technique, and it is easier to combine the fixator assisted technique and IM canal narrowing technique together. This is also known as the fixator assisted blocking screw (FABS) technique. In the case of correction of the sagittal plane in the proximal tibia or performing varization of valgus deformity, fibular osteotomy should be performed proximally at a similar level of tibial osteotomy. Here, one must be cautious to avoid peroneal nerve injury.
