Treatment of Recurrent Patella Dislocation and Rotational Malalignment Syndrome with Acute Correction of the Bony Deformities
摘要
It is important to check whether recurrent patella dislocation is accompanied by underlying bony deformity that decreases stability of patella. Rotational malalignment syndrome, valgus deformity of distal femur, and increased TT-TG (Tibial Tubercle-Trochlear Groove) distance are very important risk factors that impair stability of the patella-femoral joint. If any of these bony deformities are present, it is critical to perform correction to minimize the probability of the recurrence. In this chapter, a case of recurrent dislocation of patella with various underlying bony deformities which was treated by bony correction is presented.
