摘要

We present a 16-year-old female who sustained a severe trauma that included a traumatic left transfemoral amputation. Attempts to fit her with a femoral socket prosthesis failed because of the short femoral stump (4 cm). She underwent successfully a femoral lengthening of 13 cm. Socket prosthesis was then effective for many years until the patient developed progressively worsening stump pain upon weight bearing. This led her to become wheelchair-bound with severe functional limitation. To improve her function she underwent osseointegration with a transcutaneous femoral implant. Two years postoperatively, she is found with excellent clinical and functional results.
