Delayed Limb-Lengthening with a “Sleeper Nail” After Sarcoma Resection

A 10-year-old presented with a high-grade, conventional osteosarcoma of the right proximal tibia. She underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by limb salvage surgery with an osteoarticular allograft. A “sleeper nail” was placed at the time of tumor resection in anticipation of the patient developing a limb length discrepancy. After the patient developed a limb length discrepancy, a limb lengthening was performed using the “sleeper nail” when the patient was 13 years old.
