Management of Deformities After Treatment of Simple Bone Cyst

A 4-years-old boy is presented with ununited distal left tibial pathological fracture. There was a history of two previous operations, the first was curettage of the simple unicameral bone cyst and autologous bone grafting and the second was of curettage and plating. Follow-up revealed infected nonunion, shortening, and deformity. The operative treatment included hardware removal, minimal debridement, and application of a circular fixator. Gradual distraction and correction of the deformity without resection of the docking site were applied postoperatively. At last follow-up after 3 years of complete consolidation of the cyst, equal leg length, sound mechanical axis, and complete union of the docking site.
