Intraoperative SSEP Monitoring of Circular External Fixation in Achondroplasia
摘要
A 15 year old female with bilateral genu varum and recurvatum associated with achondroplasia underwent sequential (right leg first) staged double level tibial osteotomy for gradual angular deformity correction using circular external fixation. Due to high incidence of neurological complications during external fixation procedures in patients with achondroplasia, intraoperative somatosensory evoked potential (SSEP) monitoring of tibial and peroneal nerves was utilized.
