Rapid Sequence Intubation
摘要
Rapid sequence intubation (RSI) involves a variety of medication management steps including premedication, induction, paralysis, and post-intubation care. Critical care and emergency medicine pharmacists are positioned to aid in risk/benefit discussions surrounding premedication administration, induction agent selection and dosing, paralytic administration selection and dosing, and mitigation strategies for post-intubation hypotension. Using the knowledge of medication’s mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics discussed throughout this chapter, pharmacists can make informed decisions based on patient specific factors as to recommend an ideal intubation medication regimen.
