摘要

This article discusses the evolution of the Amicare system from its original design focused on specialised monitoring within care home settings, to its adaptation in the Pharaon project for older adults living in their own homes. It discusses the requirements identified by the Pharaon project, driven by the needs and preferences of its new user demographic. The transformation of Amicare into a system equipped with a new set of features tailored to these requirements is described in detail, illustrating the system's adaptation to the changing landscape of health monitoring for older adults in private homes. The differences in architecture, connectivity, sensor capabilities and security between the original Amicare and the Pharaon Amicare are discussed. In addition, improvements in user interface and integration with external healthcare systems are highlighted. Overall, it highlights how these enhancements ensure that Pharaon Amicare provides effective support for the remote monitoring and care of older adults in their private homes, providing the necessary tools for caregivers to manage and respond to the needs of their dependents efficiently and safely.
