A Study on the Economic Cooperation Between the Three Northeast Provinces of China and the Russian Far East Based on the Trade Gravity Model

The regional economic development of China and Russia is unbalanced, and it is urgent to improve the economic and social development of backward regions. The economic cooperation between the three provinces of Northeast China and the Far East region of Russia has strongly supported the comprehensive economic cooperation between China and Russia. It is of great significance to promote the balanced social and economic development of the two countries. This paper uses the trade gravity model to analyze the factors influencing the economic cooperation between the three northeastern provinces of China and the Russian Far East. The results show that regional GDP, population, trade openness, infrastructure, geographical location, and other factors have different degrees of influence on bilateral trade. Therefore, the three northeastern provinces of China and the Russian Far East should use their unique advantages to actively carry out trade, solve the problem of population loss, and constantly expand and deepen their areas of cooperation.
