Variables Monitoring System of NFT Hydroponic Strawberry Cultivation

摘要

The objective of this work is the implementation of a monitoring system for the supervision of pH, temperature and humidity variables, which are essential in hydroponic strawberry cultivation with the nutrient film technique (NFT). The purpose of the above is to know the status of the nutrient solution through the collection of data that will allow applying preventive or corrective actions focused on improving fruit growth, avoiding diseases, such as: chlorosis, necrosis, plant wilting and presence of white mold on leaves, stems and fruits. Monitoring of the variables is done through a user interface on a free Internet of Things (IoT) platform. It is relevant to mention that low-cost electronic material and equipment is used for the development of the solution proposal. The results of this work were recorded during the autumn-winter season, where the obtaining of fruits through the proposed technique stands out, in comparison with the traditional way of cultivation with which it is not possible to generate fruit growth given the characteristics natural of the plant in said season.
