Art and Technology as Methodology and Innovation in the Process of Guaranteeing the Human Rights of Elderly Persons
摘要
The objective of this study is to understand how the Human Rights of elderly people have been guaranteed through art and technology in social activities such as methodology and innovation. The methodological path was constructed through bibliographic and documentary research, presenting art and technology as an intervention process, in addition to deepening knowledge in a theoretical approach to the concept of Human Rights, analyzing the process of human aging in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Human Rights constitute a concept linked to citizenship, as “the full realization of citizenship rights involves the effective and broad exercise of nationally and internationally guaranteed human rights. Elderly people have civil, social and political rights that are interrelated, and codependent and art and technology have relevant contributions to strengthening citizenship by providing and supporting actions that help the elderly population to make more autonomous and conscious decisions, using art and technology as a mechanism for inclusion and coping with vulnerabilities. The study pointed out that there are groups of elderly people still excluded from public policies and in socio-political-economic conditions that expose groups of elderly people to violence. In this sense, it is important to understand how Human Rights are being treated in relation to the aging process and how legislation relating to this topic is being implemented and the contribution of art and technology to this process.
