摘要

The concluding chapter evaluates points of continuity and change over the different peace movement contexts and the 50-year time period covered by this book. I reflect on wider empirical and methodological implications of the research through reference to earlier and other contemporaneous movements where young people were significant. My analysis also extends to the present, considering the peace movement itself (including the direct organisational descendants of those discussed), and young people’s activism more broadly, perhaps seen most strikingly at the time of writing in relation to the environment and climate change. If the context of the English peace movement from the 1920s to 1960s has peculiarities, the questions it raises about young people, movements, agency, activism, and generations resonate beyond the peace movement at the time, and continue to resonate now.
