The quality parameters of oocytes and embryos is integral for the success of ART cycles. Given their importance in reproductive outcomes, evaluating oocytes and embryos at various stages of development is a routine part of IVF care. The current morphology-based scoring systems vary among different laboratories, and evaluations are subjective among embryologists. Efforts have been focused on standardizing the parameters and reducing variability. The introduction of time-lapse incubators has enabled additional information and analysis of the morphokinetics of embryo development. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to aid in the assessment of oocytes and embryos holds the potential to introduce novel insights and functionalities. This chapter will review traditional methods of oocyte and embryo evaluations, as well as current applications of computer technology in this field. Additionally, it will explore future trends in oocyte and embryo assessment.

摘要
