In recent years, the rise of technology has led to the development of various tools and resources that can be used to enhance one's vocabulary. This paper explores the use of online quizzes and paraphrasing tools as methods for improving English vocabulary. The use of online quizzes to learn and practice new vocabulary has grown in popularity. Most of the time, these quizzes give students a list of words and their definitions and then test their knowledge with matching, multiple-choice, or fill-in-the-blank questions. The quizzes can be made to meet the needs of the student by selecting the difficulty level, subject, or even the words to be tested. Because they can be taken at any time and from any location, online quizzes are an accessible option for students and are also engaging due to the gamification aspect. Research has shown that online quizzes are an effective method for vocabulary acquisition. A study by Zhang and Wu (2019) found that learners who used online quizzes to study vocabulary showed significant improvement in their scores compared to those who used traditional methods such as reading or memorizing. The authors suggest that the interactive nature of online quizzes, which provide immediate feedback and encourage active engagement with the material, may be the key to their success. To get the most out of their efforts, researches indicate students can use paraphrasing tools in conjunction with other strategies.
