Conclusions and Outlook

This final chapter of the book on the good working life outlines 15 key insights, limitations and suggestions for future research, as well as practical implications. The key conclusions are based on the theoretical and empirical insights regarding job satisfaction, work meaningfulness, and work psychological richness presented in the preceding chapters of this book. The suggestions for future research derive in part from the limitations of the empirical study conducted for this book and concern especially the need for further theory development and methodological improvements. The practical implications include suggestions for individual workers who want to create and maintain good working lives for themselves, leaders who aim to help workers achieve good working lives, and organizations interested in creating structural conditions under which good working lives can flourish.
