Transformers and the Circular Economy

This chapter introduces the concept of the circular economy, and explains differences between the circular economy and the linear economy. It continues by considering transformer life expectancy and transformer end-of-life management more generally. The main part of the chapter is a detailed consideration of different recycling approaches. Finally, the chapter concludes with guidance on how to improve transformer recyclability at the design stage.
