Management of Solid Insulation in Transformer and Reactor Windings

This chapter primarily concerns the life management of the solid insulation in transformer and reactor windings, especially the cellulose solid insulation used in oil- and other liquid-immersed designs. It includes material on ageing models for cellulose solid insulation in transformers and reactors. It details how ageing models can be updated or improved based on experience. It also details how solid insulation life can be extended. The chapter also includes some advice on procurement of new transformers and reactors.
