Condition Monitoring Techniques for Transformers and Reactors

The industry offers a plethora of online sensors, intelligent electronic devices, continuous monitoring systems, analytical tools, and software for transformer online condition assessment. However, there is no common practice on how to manage the whole process and convert the available large amounts of data into relevant and actionable information. Common, and perhaps standardised, practices and technologies would enable the construction of a so-called transformer intelligent condition monitoring (TICM) system, flexible and extensible enough to meet present and future users’ needs.
